I’m on the Average Monthly Bill Plan with Xcel Energy, what does that mean for my Sunscription?

This article is for Xcel Energy customers in Minnesota

How does the Average Monthly Plan (AMP) impact the delivery of your Solar Credits?

If you are a part of Xcel Energy's Average Monthly Bill Plan, Xcel does not apply your Solar Credits on a monthly basis. Instead, the credits are listed on your bill as a log of credits that Xcel Energy owes you. Then, once a year, Xcel's team is responsible for cutting you a check for that total credit amount owed. Under Xcel Energy's SRC MN tariff, all bill credits rollover each month and are paid out once per year (at the end of March or April).

If the Average Monthly Plan is not essential for your budget, consider coming off the Plan

For most people, it is preferable to have their bill credits applied each month. That way, you receive bill credits that reduce your Xcel Energy bill at the same time you're making Sunscription payments to US Solar. If the Average Monthly Bill Plan is not essential to your budget, we recommend you call Xcel at 1-800-895-4999 and ask to be taken off the Average Monthly Bill Plan.
